29 Mar 15: Adrenal Fatigue: What Happens When You Burn Yourself Out
Are you living with adrenal fatigue?
Adrenal fatigue can affect every aspect of daily life. If you find yourself feeling exhausted, anxious, depressed and moody, it is likely due to adrenal fatigue, and that is no way to live!
In this episode, I am talking all about adrenal fatigue and why resting is so important for healing.
I treat a lot of patients for this when they come to me after experiencing a lot of stress, lack of rest or both.
In Today’s Episode We Discuss:
- What cortisol is and how your body uses it
- How lack of sleep affects you
- Common symptoms of adrenal fatigue
- Tips for listening to your body when it needs rest
- The benefit of meditation and acupuncture
- What actually happens to your brain and hormones when you experience stressors
- How you can get stuck in fight or flight mode
- Different ways to you can begin to heal
- Why you need to make resting a habit
Remember, cortisol is your body’s energy reserve, so when you get burnt out, you end up in cortisol debt. This ultimately leads to adrenal fatigue.
Make sure you are getting enough rest, prioritizing meditation or yoga and talking to your doctor if you feel any of the symptoms associated with this!
Treating adrenal fatigue will allow you to feel like the absolute best version of yourself.
