137: How To Become Mentally Fit Without The Antidepressants with Dr. Joseph Yi

What if I told you that the key to healing your depression or anxiety wasn’t a pill?

In this episode, I sat down with The StreetMD himself, Dr. Joseph Yi, to talk about holistic psychiatry, the four pillars of mental wellness, and psychedelics. If you want to achieve mental fitness, there are simple and effective things you can do and Dr. Yi is sharing exactly how to make it happen.

Dr. Joseph Yi is a board-certified Addiction Psychiatrist with a specialization in Holistic Psychiatry and Medication Detoxification. Graduating as Chief Resident of Psychiatry from Cooper University Hospital (located in the heart of Camden, NJ) he gained invaluable experience in treating complex psychiatric and addiction cases.

Since establishing his outpatient holistic practice in 2009, Dr. Yi has successfully assisted numerous patients in Bucks County, PA in overcoming their dependence to both illicit AND prescription medications. His approach to healing encompasses the integration of the mind, body, and spirit, ensuring comprehensive care for his patients.

In addition to his local practice, Dr. Yi has extended his expertise to a global scale, reaching out to people worldwide through his social media channels during the pandemic. Through the use of humor and art, he has provided support and guidance to those in need. More recently, Dr. Yi has embarked on a journey exploring the realm of psychedelics, and he is eager to share his personal experiences and insights into the future of psychiatry.

In Today’s Episode We Discuss:

  • Dr. Yi’s journey into holistic psychiatry
  • The problem with the way mental health is treated in traditional settings
  • The four pillars of mental wellness
