54: How to Easily Implement Meditation Right Now (Plus a 3-Minute Guided Meditation!) with Laura K Roe

Have you implemented meditation into your routine yet?

Joining me in this episode is Laura Roe. She is a veteran journalist, author, yogi, and meditation coach with a really cool story, so I am really excited that she is sharing it with us all on the show.

Laura K Roe is the pen name for Laura Roe Stevens, a freelance writer and former magazine editor who has contributed to The New York Times, Inc., Forbes, Fit Pregnancy, Parenting, Parents, The Los Angeles Times, The Atlanta Journal & Constitution Sunday opinions page and others. Posts from Laura’s blog have led to appearances and interviews with Dr. Drew’s Life Changer’s show, The Queen Latifah show, CNNfn, Huff Post, on topics ranging from business to careers to parenting to dating.

When not writing, Laura teaches yoga and meditation throughout Los Angeles and across the globe at Yoga for Writers Retreats.

We talk all about how Laura prioritizes meditation in her life and how it has helped her throughout the years. We also get into easy ways that anyone can implement mediation in their lives whether it’s at home or at your kid’s soccer game.

In Today’s Episode We Discuss:

  • How meditation allows the mind to calm down
  • Tips for just starting out with meditation
  • Why it’s important to set intentions about being rather than doing
  • How to meditate anywhere you are
  • A guided meditation

Meditation is the number one thing you can do for any stress-related condition, so it is a really important health practice. A mini mindfulness break can shift your whole physiology and even your whole day.

Meditation can also help you show up better for yourself and others which is one of the things that makes it so profound.
