141: Integrative Oncology: Your Partner on the Cancer Healing Journey with Dr. Sonia Malani

Looking for a naturopathic approach to cancer?

In this episode of The Dr. Kinney Show, I sat down with Dr. Sonia Malani, who is a naturopathic doctor who specializes in cancer care so we are having a conversation all about integrative oncology and the options you have.

Dr. Sonia Malani ND, FABNO is a physician, author, and researcher. Dr. Malani graduated from Bastyr University with her doctorate in naturopathic medicine.

Prior to Bastyr, she graduated with a B.A in psychology from New York University. Fueled by a personal experience, Dr. Malani knew her calling was to be a naturopathic physician at the age of 19. After medical school, Dr. Malani completed a residency with a clinical focus in Integrative Oncology and Palliative Medicine.

She is a Fellow of the American Board of Naturopathic Oncology (FABNO). She has been involved in multiple clinical trials investigating the efficacy of integrative medicine in a clinical setting.

Dr. Malani is co-investigator of the AIMS Cancer Outcomes Study (ACOS), a prospective outcomes study measuring overall survival in cancer patients utilizing integrative oncology.

She currently sees patients, teaches and writes, and acts as a research consultant for integrative and functional medicine organizations nationwide.

In Today’s Episode We Discuss:

  • How Dr. Malani learned about naturopathic medicine
  • The role of an integrative oncologist
  • What caregivers need to remember when it comes to their own health
  • What integrative oncologists can do for patients
  • The improved quality of life integrative oncologists offer
  • The truth about sugar and cancer
  • The role of insulin in cancer
  • Why more people than ever want to learn about naturopathic medicine
  • How cancer can completely change your life

I hope you enjoyed this conversation with Dr. Malani. There is so much that can be done for cancer patients, and integrative oncologists can be a huge part of your healing journey.
