58: Tips for Healing Your Pelvic Floor and Improving Your Overall Health with Julie Blamphin

Did you know that the health of your pelvic floor can influence you physically, mentally, and emotionally?

Your pelvic floor is a collection of muscles at the base of your pelvic floor that are part of your foundational core. A lot of women are struggling with instability in these muscles without even realizing it. This can manifest as low back pain, stomach tension, constipation, diarrhea, or even leakage or incontinence.

Needless to say, your pelvic floor muscles are extremely important, and healing them can benefit you in more ways than one. We need to keep them happy, healthy, stable, and strong. In this episode, Julie Blamphin is back on the show to teach you how you can do just that!

Julie Blamphin has taught yoga since she was 12 years old. Now she empowers women to enjoy leak-free laughter and pain-free sex by stabilizing the core and pelvic floor. She is passionate about using movement and laughter to release the taboo around pelvic floor instability – which she believes is the key to rediscovering your sexy joyful self.

Unlike other Yoga Teachers, Julie combines physical yoga poses with a laughter practice and emotional connection. She values vulnerability, courage, positivity, and feeling sexy at every stage of life. Julie loves to laugh, dance, garden, travel, and speak Spanish. She’s a Pittsburgh Steelers football fan and currently lives in Annapolis, Maryland USA.

In Today’s Episode We Discuss:

  • The types of pelvic floor dysfunction that women can have
  • How to find out what is going on with your pelvic floor
  • Why very active people might have an overactive pelvic floor
  • How you can bring balance to your pelvic muscles
  • Why you can’t ignore the pelvic floor issues you’re having

The pelvic floor is our root chakra and the base of our whole system. I am so glad Julie joined me on the show to talk about this sacred space because it really does impact our lives in more ways than we realize.

I love how Julie looks at the whole picture when helping women heal their pelvic floor muscles. If you feel like you have something going on in that area, Julie is definitely who you need to connect with.  If you want to take her quiz and find clarity on the state of your pelvic floor, you can do that here.
