04 Oct 42: Tips From a Doula on Navigating Postpartum with Danielle Powell
Do you know what’s not talked about a lot? Postpartum.
I’m excited to have the owner of Chesapeake Birth and Baby on the show, Danielle Powell, to talk about what happens in the first month after you have a baby.
I’m really excited to share this episode with you because Danielle is covering all of the things that she sees as a certified labor and postpartum doula and some tips and tricks that she has for new moms or soon-to-be moms.
Danielle has provided support to families for over 10 years. She is passionate about postpartum care and helping families transition smoothly to life with a new baby. She manages postpartum doulas and creates consistency of care standards. Currently, she is in the process of becoming an IBCLC.
In Today’s Episode We Discuss:
- The lack of conversation when it comes to postpartum
- Prioritizing the mental and physical health of the mother
- How crucial the healing and recovery phase is
- How to support and visit a newborn baby as a friend or family member
- Tips for establishing a good milk supply
- How hormones and the brain are impacted postpartum
- How to find a doula
- Why you should consider a postpartum plan
If you are in the postpartum phase or you will be soon, I hope this episode is helpful for you! If you know someone that could benefit from the topics that Danielle shared, pass this episode along to them!
