94: Ways to Eliminate Pain Naturally with Rick Olderman

Pain is a huge part of life for many people and it can be very disruptive. Luckily, there are multiple ways to manage pain aside from traditional painkillers.

In fact, many times you can drastically improve your pain by just changing your day-to-day habits. In this episode of The Dr. Kinney Show, I sat down with Rick Olderman, who is pretty much a pain specialist, to talk about ways to eliminate pain naturally and the ways that physical therapy can help you.

Rick Olderman is a sports and orthopedic physical therapist with more than 25 years of experience that specializes in helping people with chronic pain experience a pain-free life. He graduated with his Master’s degree from The Krannert School of Physical Therapy at the University of Indianapolis in 1996.

Rick has written the popular Fixing You® series of books — found on Amazon.com — to help people with chronic pain or injuries. Rick wants to show you how to live completely pain-free without the need for medication.

In Today’s Episode We Discuss:

  • What the Fixing You® method is
  • What causes pain
  • The impact of changing your habits
  • Simple solutions for back pain
  • Where you can find Rick’s books
  • How to relieve chronic neck pain or headaches
  • How to do the armpit test
  • How your shoulder blades should be positioned

The things that Rick teaches are simple, and you don’t necessarily need a physical therapist to do them. Our bodies are amazing at creating change, we just have to get over the initial resistance to the change. It’s incredible how much better you’ll feel when you do.
